Virtual School

Hello everyone, it’s Maddie. We started Remote School today, and it went by sooooo slow. There are things I really like and things that I really dislike about doing online learning. I woke up around 8, which was a nice way to sleep in since I usually wake up at 5:45. I stayed in my pajamas the entire day which made me feel less stressed about everything. I did all of my school work in my bed since my brothers are also home and I found my room to be the quietest place to work. I like that I can work at my own pace without other people rushing me to do things, but whatever I don’t finish in the class period I will have to finish for homework. I also don’t like that every teacher uses different apps. I found myself texting my classmates and asking them where I sign in for attendance since every class was different. One of the hardest things though is not being able to see my friends and socialize with them in between classes and during lunch. It kind of feels like I am skipping school in...

Coronavirus

Hey, it’s Maddie. Things have been a little crazy the past couple of days. Coronavirus is becoming more of a problem in the U.S. than we imagined it would. Local schools are closing starting March 16 all the way through April 20, which is after spring break! I feel like I am in the unknown in this situation. This makes me feel anxious because I am afraid I won’t be prepared for what to do the first couple of days of remote learning. I would rather the teachers tell us today, most likely our last day of school before we close, what they expect for their classes and what apps or online websites they will be using (as well as how to use them). I am interested in experiencing what online school is like, bu...

How Technology Affects My Daily Life

What would we do without technology? No, seriously. I’m Maddie, and I know for a fact that I use technology at least 10 or more hours of my day. I use it at school, home, to communicate, and for other various things. Without technology, I wouldn’t be able to do any of the things that I typically do on a daily basis. Today I will be sharing with you 5 ways that I use technology everyday, and how it affects my life. 1. Technology at School At my school, we use iPads everyday. Literally everyday. It is a huge part of student and teacher life. We take notes, turn in assignments, complete tests, view our grades, and communicate with teachers all on our iPads. Another plus of using iPads is that we don’t have to carry around so many books or binders. I have been using my iPad at school for about 6 months, and I have learned so much about  how I can use technology for learning purposes. 2. Communication I have a very busy life, as well as the rest of my family. I often go to ...
